Well it sure has been a long day, and while we've not talked to a doctor since much earlier, we are pretty sure surgery will take place tomorrow. According to our current nurse, she has been in contact with some of the surgeons and they've made sure that B is NPO after midnight to prep for surgery.
No idea what time we are looking at, and there is always the potential that we could get bumped due to a transplant.
As it stands now we're getting mentally prepared that this will all happen tomorrow. Since the doctor never came back, we never got the chance to ask about the abnormal varices that he mentioned earlier today. We will try to ask questions tomorrow, but I'm sure things will be a flurry of activity prior to surgery.
I'll update as soon as there's anything to update. I would guess things would happen early, or at least we would know something early, but you never know. Luckily B's fever is down to just below 100 now, so that's great. Hopefully we can keep it that way in an effort to keep him healthy for surgery!
Thanks so much for those of you that called and emailed today. Sorry I didn't get a chance to call back. It was a pretty draining day, and I felt too wiped out to hold any sort of adult conversation. But we're listening to all your messages and feel very blessed and supported! Thank you, thank you!
