So there it is. He is feeling well enough that he is worried about catching the football game and watching the season premier of 24.
The last time the nurses asked, he said his pain was a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Not bad for just having surgery yesterday. Even his lung capacity is doing amazingly well. We've been doing the breathing machine ten times on the hour, and he's already gotten it past the 1250 mark. I know that doesn't mean much to those of you that have not had surgery before, but to give you an idea, I think with past surgeries, it's taken us days after surgery to get to that point.
I have no doubts the prayers are making him stronger. God is watching over B, keeping him comfortable, and speeding him right along in the recovery process.
If I had to guess I would say they will likely move him out of ICU tomorrow. I'm also thinking they'll get him out of bed and walking around, even if only for short distances.
B's been very talkative all day between resting. Everyone who has seen or talked with him has commented on how well he is doing. We are truly blessed.
Thank you each for all your love and support. B gives a big hello and thanks to each of you (during the 24 commercial break, of course).
So far so good. And he will continue improving. He is confident and I am confident because we have truly seen a miracle over the last 48 hours. Thank you family, thank you friends, thank you God!
Life is so very precious as is what we do with this life we are given. I know B and I have been given another chance, and we both believe there's a good reason. We plan to make it our priority to give and express love to those we know, as well as those we don't. We want to make our time here count. We want to serve others and to enjoy and embrace each and every moment that we are given.
How great is the gift of love? Make your time here count and share your love with all those you come in contact with. Heck, after reading this find your nearest loved one and give them a big old hug and kiss 'just because'. Or call an old friend just because you're thinking of them. Share a smile with a stranger. Who knows, it may be one of the brightest spots in their day.
With lots of love, and continued thanks for your support!

I'm glad to see B is doin good. Melissa maybe now you'll understand the importance of football to a man. LOL Everything you have written in this post is 100% true. God looks after special people like you guys. As long as you have god in your life good things will happen. Can't wait until I get a chance to see all of you guys.
Hey what happened that was from me.
That was one amazing entry! Thanks for the encouraging words & great message. I think you should start a side business as a motivational speaker. You & Brian both have a gift for writing! God Bless, Gina xoxo
