Numbers going down

It's Saturday morning (almost 1 week post-transplant) and we've just seen the doctor.  It appears that B's levels (especially the bilirubin which they were most concerned with) are coming down.  Yesterday's number was about 10.5, and today it's gone down to 9.5.  It's taking it's good old time, but at least it's moving in the right direction.

I asked the doctor about the levels and what they would like to see, as I know typically numbers return to normal pretty quickly.  He replied that the bilirubin is typically the last to come down, and as long as everything is moving in the right direction, that's the most important thing right now.

So we will wait, and pray, and see what tomorrow's numbers bring.  In the meantime they are going to do an ultrasound today in the hopes of confirming that everything is as it should be.  There's still talk of us going home on Monday pending the numbers keep going down and nothing strange comes up on any tests.

We're happy about the possibility of going home on Monday, but we're also not set on it as we know how quickly things can change--sometimes in a matter of minutes!

Today I'm thinking about leaving the hospital briefly for the first time in over a week.  I have to get rid of some of this nervous energy I've been carrying for the last week.  I've got my shoes, so I might go for a jog around the hospital.  Or a friend told me about a little yoga studio right around the corner.  I would love to venture over there for a bit.  It would probably be good for both mind and body!

So that's it for today.  A couple tests for B, and hopefully some workout release for me.  After that we've got plenty of things to keep us busy this afternoon.

Wishing you and yours a blessed weekend.  Will update again soon...

So thankful for the last couple posts! Things seem to be moving back forward in the right direction. Please do get out of the hospital even if just short while. You need some good fresh air. I could send you some -13 degree air your way from Ohio if you want it?
