B is doing amazingly well. Mom and I found a quiet waiting room to catch some sleep in when they kicked us out of ICU last night. We got back in here first thing in the morning. At first he was pretty sedated, but he was doing very, very well. About an hour ago they decided to let the sedation wear off, and they proceeded to take the tube out of his lungs. The therapist said that B's lung functions were doing better than most peoples do normally, not having just had major surgery.
B is now awake and alert. He is glad to have the tube out as it was causing some pain and discomfort. He's now feeling better and pain is under control! Grandma walked in a few moments ago and cried tears of joy when she saw B and how well he was doing! Yes, he really is doing that well.
The next 72 hours are critical, but I have faith in God and know how strong my hubby is. I know we will get through this, and will soon be on to The Next Step....
B asked me to send his love and appreciation for all of your support, thoughts, and especially the prayers. Keep them coming. They are working miracles!
Love M
