It wasn't exactly first thing in the morning like we were hoping, but we are finally home. My liver numbers had their most significant drop in a week, so it was a no brainer to discharge today. I still had quite a few lines and IV's in so it took a while to get everything out. I feel pretty roughed up right now since removing all those lines is not the most pleasant of experiences. But at least I feel roughed up on my own couch right now, and in my own bed soon enough.
I have a day off from doctors tomorrow, and then it is back to Lifelink on Friday to check my levels again and check in with one of the coordinators. I will start a Physical therapy routine tomorrow which will begin the long road to recovery.
"I feel home when I see the faces that remember my own
I feel home when I'm chillin outside with the people I know
I feel home, and that's just what I feel
Cause home, to me, is reality and all I need is something real"
