Doctor just left a moment ago. At first we was pretty set on holding off for the surgery. Something about the nuclear med scan being inconclusive, and the drainage not appearing to be pure bile.
But then he went to look at the u/s and talk with the nurses. He came back in and said it doesn't appear that we can wait. I think he even means that goes for tomorrow. From the sounds of it he is going to get together with the surgeon who did the transplant on Saturday and will get back to us with a plan.
To me it sounded like that meant we could not wait and need to have the surgery today. On top of the leaky bile duct, he said the u/s showed that some of the varices are not functioning as they should. I'm not sure how concerned we should be about this as it was the last thing he said before he left, which left us no time for questions. At least we know he will be back soon and we can try to get a more clear picture of what is going on.
So who knows what today will hold. Things seem to change by the minute, but we know how that goes around here. I will update as soon as I have something to update...

Hi,
My name is Nancy and I just received my liver on November 16th. I was lead to your blog by Erin's blog at The Dunkles. I am reading through some of your posts and am up to the ones where things are changing constantly and he might go back into surgery... My blog goes over quite a bit of what I went through although I need to get started going back and writing my version of what happened during and after transplant. You can find me at www.reallife-withus.blogspot.com I would like to link your blog to mine if you don't mind and would love to chat sometime!
God Bless you both,
A sister in transplant,
Nancy
