Potholes

My wife loves her chocolate.  More specifically, she loves Dove chocolate.  There is almost always a bag of the mini Dove chocolates in our house.  Inside each wrapper is a quote or a saying.  Here is the one she got tonight;

"Forget the potholes in the road and celebrate the journey instead!"

We have had our fair share of "potholes" on our journey in life,  but I don't think we will ever forget them.  I hope we don't.  Those potholes are actually what have made our journey so meaningful.  Although it was no fun while we drove over those potholes, looking back on it, we can usually laugh.  Now we are able to celebrate every step of the journey that we take, and it means that much more.

I am still speaking of metaphorical "potholes" of course.  At least I think I am.  I did almost hit a pretty nasty one on my way to work this morning.  I am fairly sure that I would not have been laughing if it tore up one of my tires.  Now I am talking about real potholes.

Now I am confusing myself.

My head hurts.  Better stop while I am ahead, or behind.

Oh, forget it.
