The last week and a half have really been a whirl wind of emotions. My mind and body have been seemingly racing at 100 MPH. I am not sure if things have slowed down or if I have just gotten used to this state of nonstop excitement (I would guess the later), but things seem to be normalizing.
So now that things seems somewhat calm, I can finally answer some the most commonly asked questions about the adoption.
Q: Where is the baby coming from?
A: If you don't know where babies come from, I am not sure that this is the place to find out :)
Q: I mean--is it domestic or international?
A: Domestic
Q: Boy or Girl?
A: Girl
Q: It is a done deal?
A: No. The birth mother has up to 48 hours after the birth to change her mind. These are our state rules, and they are actually better than most states. It's not a done deal, until all papers are signed after baby is born.
Q: Are you excited?
A: Beyond words.
Q: Are you scared?
A: Not yet.
Q: Who gets to name the baby?
Q: Are you ready?
A: Is any body ever really ready for this? We are as ready as we can be at this point, but have a lot to do in a short amount of time. And we're excited about every minute of it!

No one is ever ready. Even if you think you know everything, it is nothing like you expected. Just enjoy every moment of it. I can't believe Melia is 6 months old already.
