God Has Answered

This is my 179 blog entry.  There is nothing really significant about that number, but what is significant, is the fact that in the previous 178 blog entries, I have not once talked about one of the most dominating aspects of our lives.

In the course of those 178 blogs, there have been quite a few twists and turns.  We have just entered another HUGE turn.  A life changing turn.

We are having a baby.  More accurately, we are adopting a newborn baby girl.

Words cannot express how elated we are.  We have been trying to start a family for more than five years.  We have gone through three unsuccessful rounds of IVF.  We traveled across the country and  tried the latest state of the art technology during those IVF cycles, and still had no child to show for it.

About a year and a half ago, we began the adoption process, and Tuesday afternoon, my wife got the call.  We have finally been picked.

There is so much going through my head right now, I cannot possible organize it enough to put it into words.  I am sure those thoughts will all come out as I have time to process this amazing news.

If the excitement of being picked wasn't enough, the baby is due on July 25.  Yes, July 25.  That is a month away.

I have a feeling it is going to be a crazy month.

I couldn't be happier. I'm still smiling ear to ear thinking about how elated you two must be. Like I told Melissa, get some sleep now while you can!!! :-)

I am ecstatic. The best new ever! It has been such a long journey for you two but once you hold your daughter in your arms it will be worth it. I can't wait to see her.
