Solidarity Challenge: Day 2

Day 2 is winding down and I am still going strong.  Well maybe strong is not the word, but I feel good.  My energy level is still good, and I am not as hungry as I thought I would be.  I actually had to go to the doctor today for a physical and had a full work up including EKG.  Pulse, blood pressure, EKG and weight were all perfect.

I do have a confession to make.  I did have a protein shake tonight.  I did so not because I was hungry, but as a precautionary measure.  I have been eating a lot less calories and nutrients the last two days, so I thought I would load up.  I know that technically it is cheating, but if it is any consolation, I didn't enjoy it.

The hardest part right now is the monotony and tastelessness of what I am eating.  There is only so much you can do to spice up beans and rice.  It really has taken all the enjoyment out of eating.  The fact that I am not even half way through does not help.

Every time I eat, or feel hunger, I am reminded of the school in Haiti and the children and families that we are helping by doing this challenge.  Thinking about their situation makes mine seem small.

Here is our receipts from shopping this week.  Spent $10.56.  Not bad.
