I Am NOT Too Old for This

Since turning 30, I have had my share fair of "old" comments, especially after complaining of soreness after a night of bowling.  I have tried to explain that I always seem to be suffering from some type of injury, regardless of how old, I mean young I am.  Here is a list of some of the aches, pains and injuries I have suffered this year.

***DISCLAIMER:  All injuries are self diagnosed, and I have no history in medicine aside from spending a lot of time in hospitals, so take  the below list with a grain of salt.

  • Pulled hamstring (softball)
  • Strained upper back (dodgeball)
  • Screaming knees (Hiking in Puetro Rico)  If you are not familiar with this injury, it occurs during a steep hike either up or down hill.  At the point of injury, your knees scream at you out of pain with every step you take.
  • Bruised Ribs (Wake Surfing)
  • Sore lower back (Wake Boarding)
  • Wii Elbow (Wii boxing kicked my butt.)
  •  Sore forearm (Bowling.  Please stop laughing.)
  • At last a dozen cuts and scraps on my hands (Rock Climbing)
  • Broken Finger (Boating.  OK.  Not exactly boating.  The boat was in the garage on the trailer.  I was climbing out of the boat and my finger got caught in the cleat.  My body came down to the ground, my finger did not.)
I know it seems like a long list, but considering the fact that I was laid up in hospital recovering from surgery six months ago, I am actually disturbing proud of this list.
