Cocoa Beach

We are finally here.  I have been waiting over a year to get back here.

This is where I learned how to surf, and for that reason, it will always be a special place for me. Every time I come back, I am reminded of the unique exhilaration that I have only experienced while riding a wave.  We always stay at the same hotel just off the beach, and usually come in after dark.  For the most part, Cocoa is a quiet town, but the two blocks that Ron Jon Surf Shop and the Cocoa Beach Surf Company occupy, remind my wife of a mini Las Vegas.  It is big.  It is bright.  It is busy.  Every time I drive up and see the bright lights, I instantly smile.

I have not been able to surf since my surgery LAST JUNE, and multiple attempts to come back recently have been postponed.  We are now finally here, and I cannot wait for morning to come, and hopefully a good surf with it.

Side Note:  This is the fifth time we have been to this hotel, and it seems like we stop at Taco Bell before getting here almost every time, so apparently it is a tradition.  Today I almost ordered an Enchirito.  Not sure why, but I almost did.  Does anybody even know what an Enchirito is???
