There are few things that I find more peaceful and relaxing than a lake just after sunrise. The way the fresh sunlight reflects off the mirror like surface is a picture perfect vision of tranquility. The undisturbed water looks like a endless piece of glass; flat, smooth and fragile.
At the same time, there are few things that I enjoy more than going out and breaking that glass.
Staying at the lake house this weekend gave me the opportunity to do just that. Both Saturday and Sunday, I was up just after sunrise and headed straight out to the dock and to the boat. Other than a few scattered fishermen trolling the shoreline, I was the only one out there. Well almost the only one. Braydon was with me Saturday, and Melissa joined us Sunday.
Cruising across that glass-like surface is just as peaceful and relaxing as it is from the dock. The only difference is the crack in the glass I leave behind.
