The Hits Just Keep on Coming

After yet another nearly sleepless night, I had my bag in one hand and the car keys in the other, all ready to step out the door and go to work. Before I could leave, I heard M ask;

"Hey B. Have you looked in the pool lately?"

I knew that it had been awhile since I had vacuumed the pool so I expected another one of those "talks" about keeping the pool clean.

But then M headed outside and called me to follow. There in the bottom of the pool, was this..

.
A Turtle.
(Yes, I know. I need to vacuum the pool.)

I couldn't very well leave it there all day. The water is chlorinated, and there was no way for the turtle to get out on it's own. Since snapping turtles are common in the area, I thought it better for me to get it out rather then M.

So this was the scene at our house at 7:00 this morning.

I am happy to report that the turtle was safely returned to the pond behind the house.

Something Happened Somewhere Turning said...

I just read something from the CDC the other day that had to do with turtles and people who have had organ transplants or liver problems. I thought it was interesting. I don't have any turtles in my area (Utah), but it might be useful information for you and others.
