Good Deed of the Day

After work today, I had to take the boat out onto the lake (Yes, I HAD to take it out. Rough live, I know.) Anyway, the lake was empty and relatively flat and I went for a spin. This is something that I rarely get to do, and I was enjoying every minute of it.

Not five minutes after getting on the water, right when I began to get into a good groove, something in the middle of the lake caught my eye. Turns out, the lake was not completely empty. Off in the distance I could see a single jet ski with a tube behind it. Two guys were standing on the ski, waving their life jackets. Not exactly the international sign for S.O.S. , but I got the point.

I have to admit, I hesitated. I was enjoying myself so much, that I thought about pretending I didn't see them. The more I thought about it though, the slower my boat moved until it came to a complete stop.

I thought about several different times Melissa and I were in that same situation. I remember being on that very same lake, just a few hundred yards from that very same spot. I remembered no less than a dozen boats fly right by us as we attempted to paddle in our 18 foot speed boat.

And so I did it.

I pulled up next to them, threw them a line and spent the next twenty minutes towing them in. So that is my good deed of the day. i'll be looking for some good Karma coming may way.
