"Can't you see that it's just raining,
There ain't no need to go outside."
And so began a great night in a very appropriate manner.
As Jack Johnson began signing these lyrics, the 20,000 people waiting in the rain went crazy. Melissa and I and some friends were some of the lucky ones in the crowd that had lawn seats and were left exposed to that rain.
Before he finished "Banana Pancakes" I all but forgot about the rain and felt like I was transfered to the beaches of Hawaii.
The crowd in the Ford Amphitheater joined right in and swayed to the laid back melodies. (Yes, I know that it is not the Ford Amphitheater anymore, but I refuse to call it the "1-800-ASK-GARY" Amphitheater. Ridiculous.) It was a great show, and the icing on the cake was "A Pirate Looks and 40" in the encore.
