Are You Calling Me Fat?

The answer is yes.  No less then 5 people in the last three days have said something like that to me.  OK,  not exactly like that,  but close enough.  There is good reason for it though.  I have gained somewhere between 13 and 15 pounds since getting out of the hospital.  When I got home I weighed 118 and am now up to around 131 as of this morning.  As little as 7 months ago, I weighed only 112 pounds.

There are a few reasons for this.  First I have been eating everything and anything that is put in front of me, and some things that haven't; since getting out of the hospital.  That however will be coming to end soon.  (More on this later).  Second, my usual high activity level, including daily workouts and weekend adventures,  have been put on hold for the last few months.  Even more so since Thursday when my abdominal pain increased significantly (I did have a CT scan on Monday.  Should have results tomorrow).  Hopefully soon I will be able to return to my regular activity level.  Last, I am still on a high dosage of steroids (no, not the kind that A-Rod and Barry Bonds took).  A common side effect of this medication is weight gain.

So in summary, yes I am gaining weight, but no, you will not see me on "The Biggest Loser" anytime soon.
