Saturday morning and still in the hospital.
I have been moved to the transplant floor so I can be observed by the doctors from Lifelink and nurses familiar with all my meds. I feel well enough to go home, but they are holding on to me as a precaution. The nurse just hooked up another IV antibiotic, although they are becoming much less frequent.
Not much new. The doctors think that the infection is from my liver (duh!). We checked my blood numbers and my billiruben was up to 26 on Tuesday which is ridiculously high.
I have been cleared for the transplant list, but at category 7 meaning that until this infection is completely gone, I am not eligible for a liver. The surgeons have also thrown in the idea of having the continuation of June's colon surgery before the transplant, which would back the transplant up 3 to 4 weeks. That is assuming I can get the surgery soon, which is not guaranteed. This seems to be the hot topic of discussion now.
Right now we are just waiting to hear form some of the doctors and surgeons to figure out what comes next
