It is better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air...

then in the air wishing you were on the ground.  At least that is what we were told.

Let me explain.

Tomorrow is our 6 year wedding anniversary.   Since tomorrow is Easter, and our day is already filled with church and family stuff, we decided to celebrate today.  I have been planning something for awhile and was really looking forward to it.  I was fairly confident that my wife would like it, with one exception.  It involved waking up at 5:30 this morning.

And so we did.

We then made our way to the parking lot of a Dunkin Donuts.  Romantic right?  That is where the van picked us up and drove us out to an empty field in the middle of nowhere.  Can you feel the love?

That is where we heard it.  "It is better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, then in the air wishing you were on the ground".  It makes sense if you think about it.  Especially coming from your hot air ballon captain.  The fog was too thick and the winds were too high.   Not worth the risk he told us.  We will have to try it again some other time.  And that was it.

So we are back home now.  Not much planned for the rest of the day.  Dinner tonight at Roy's.  We'll try the ballon some other day.

We use that saying all the time in skydiving. Believe me, it's true. ALWAYS better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air. When you're up there praying to get down safely, it's NOT fun! Very romantic idea though! Did you get a raincheck? Or fogcheck, as it were?
