The Legend of the Mojito

Most legends begin under a cloud of mystery. This legend is no different.

Several years ago, some saw five, others say six or seven, Melissa and a few friends had planned on going out for a night of dancing and fun. They all met at our house and wanted to have a drink or two before going out. One of the girls had recently had a Mojito and liked it, so that became the drink of choice for the night.

I was elected as bartender and soon the drinks were flowing freely. Apparently they were good. Really good. (I wouldn't know. I've never had one).

There are differing accounts of what happened the rest of the night, but I can tell you my version The rest of the night is filled with events and moments that for the good of all involved, I will not get into here. All I will say is that the girls tried to still go out (with me as their driver) but never made it to the club. There were at least two stops on the way home that involved some really terrible noises and smells.

And so was born the legend of the Mojito.

Despite the headaches the next morning, everybody had great time, and we vowed to do It again.
Every year since then, we have hosted a party at out house to share in the special joy that comes with drinking Mojitos. Tonight that legend continues.

I have gotten more adventurous over the years and have tried different flavors. Tonights featured flavor will be strawberry. We'll see how they go over.
