Introduction

It is rare that someone gets a second chance at life. I was given that chance almost seven years ago when I received a liver transplant. I have spent everyday since then trying to live each day to the fullest. I have started and ended everyday since then the same way, by thanking God for giving me the chance to experience that day. No matter what happens, no matter how terrible the day has been, I thank God for the chance to be alive and experience life.

Now, this second chance has run it's course. My liver is failing again and I need another transplant. So now, I need to look toward my third chance at life, which is where this blog comes in.

My wife and I are not new to these challenges in life. My wife is a two time cancer survivor and in addition to the liver transplant seven years ago, I also had surgery this past June to remove my colon, which almost killed me. Despite all these challenges, we have both managed to stay positive, up beat and live life the best we can. A few people have mentioned to me over time that we should write all this down, so here it is.

This blog will track our lives as we go through the process of being placed on the list and waiting for the transplant. But more importantly, it will track what we do with these multiple gifts of life that we have been given. Throughout it all I am sure more of these stories from our past struggles will come up. It is my hope that through our struggles, the faith, hope and attitude that we walk through life with, will inspire others.
